Rubbish Poetry

By Rachael Greyhound

Living in a confined space, Valentin and I soon realised how much waste packaging we were accumulating. I started Rubbish Poetry as a lazy attempt to avoid the pilgrimage to the nearest public bin. A slob moment! I would reuse our packets and papers by turning them into media for my poetry. These poems aim to capture everyday moments of van life and are written entirely in a day: on the autobahn, in a sleeping bag, or halfway up a mountain, then scrawled on the back of a packet and photographed in all their imperfections.
